Founded by Taylor Harper and Samuel West, The Atlanta Mind Project emerged from a shared vision to address the critical gap in mental health accessibility for Atlanta's youth. We recognized that while awareness was growing, practical, affordable resources remained out of reach for too many young people.
Our journey began with a simple but powerful belief: mental health care should be as accessible as physical health care. In a state where Georgia ranks 49th in mental health care accessibility, and where 67% of youth with depression never receive treatment, our mission became clear and urgent.
"We started The Atlanta Mind Project because we saw our friends and community members struggling in silence. Mental health shouldn't be a luxuryβit's a fundamental human right that every young person in Atlanta deserves."
Today, we've grown into a movement that blends education with empathy, and awareness with action. We create spaces where vulnerability is strength, where conversations about mental health are normalized, and where every young person knows they're not alone in their struggles.
Through our innovative approach that combines workshops, community events, digital resources, and partnerships with local organizations, we're breaking down barriers and building bridges to mental wellness for Atlanta's next generation.
